The Patient Advocate Foundation is a national non-profit organization that seeks to safeguard patients through effective mediation assuring access to care, maintenance of employment and preservation of their financial stability relative to their diagnosis of life threatening disabilities.
- Patient Advocate Group. The Patient Advocate Group was formed to assist patients to overcome barriers within the healthcare system and to resolve private and public insurance issues for Seniors, Families, Employers, Doctor’s offices, etc. Located in Dallas, TX, helping people worldwide.
- Patients Are Powerful. Patients Are Powerful is a non-profit organization with a diverse group of “managed care experts” singularly dedicated to helping patients improve their managed medical healthcare. (Services are free of charge.)
- Patient Advocacy Resource. The Patient Advocacy Resource is an online guide of websites and print material to assist consumers in becoming advocates for their own health.
- Massachusetts State Resources:
- Health Law Advocates, started by Health Care For All, is a non-profit health law firm that represents individual health care consumers as well as class action needs.
- Community Catalyst, a national organization that works with consumer health advocacy groups like Health Care For All across the country, providing policy and legal support, organizational development consultation, and community organizing assistance.
- Commonwealth Care Alliance, a consumer-driven care management program for frail seniors and disabled persons living in the community.
- Family USA, A national nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans. It works primarily on federal legislative and regulatory issues.
- Public Policy Institute, a brand new training and education program for the next generation of health care and community activists, run by Massachusetts’ original “poor people’s lobbyist,” Judy Meredith.
